Home to both short and long term backpackers, we are a shared house with a weekly free communal meal in our bar downstairs.

Festival headliner Manu Chao chose Hootananny bar to give a secret show after his festival act. Hootanany bar puts on Salsa classes and live Salsa band on Sundays, folk live acts on Monday to Wednesday, top live Reggae bands on Thursday and live Ska on Fridays with live Pop Rock and others on Saturdays.

Hostellers and residents alike report that Brixton feels lively safe and fun with its multi-cultural open air and covered markets, alternative coffee shops, loved independent Ritzy cinema and famous Brixton Academy music venue. Brockwell Park is on our doorstep one of the biggest in London.
