Play the numerous golf courses (Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Portumna to name but a few) in the area. Visit Kilconnell Abbey, Clonfert Cathedral, Clonmacnoise, Aughrim Heritage Centre & Museum, the Ballinasloe Horse Fair (first week in October) and the Aughrim Music Festival (held on August Bank Holiday).
