Antico Spedale del Bigallo Hostel in Florence, Italy, Europe

With a breathtaking view of Florence below, the Antico Spedale del Bigallo is located in a medieval building (once a pilgrim hostel and monastery) dating from the 13th century which lies on a hill 8 km. south east of the city centre.
Today it is a modern and comfortable youth hostel with 50 beds housed in an appealing medieval style.
The Bigallo Youth Hostel welcomes third millennium pilgrims who yearn to live in an atmosphere outside of time and who enjoy both the beauty of nature and the nearby art centres of Tuscany. The Antico Spedale del Bigallo also has a ceremony room which can hold up to 100 seats, this can be used for public and private gatherings, such as weddings, anniversaries, concerts, art exhibitions, meetings and/or conferences.

Open from the 1st of April to 30th of September.
Check in Times are from 18.00 till 22.00

Opening hours are as follows:
Morning: 7.30 - 9.00 (Only to leave baggage, no check in)
Evening: 18.00 - 23.00

How to get here:
Public transport: Bus nÂ°33 from SMN railway station in Florence to 'La Fonte'. Last part on foot (about 1 km, uphill).
Own transport: A1 exit 'Firenze Sud' direction Bagno a Ripoli. Follow the main road for about 3 km from the village heading in the direction of Bigallo.
